I hate to use the phrase ‘life changing’ but I’m not sure how else to describe this dip.
Seriously, it really is that good. The first time I made it I ended up eating it for supper. Drew came through the door from football and saw me hovering over the pie dish with a tortilla chip. He passed no judgement and pulled up a chair. I handed him a chip and we both ate in silence.
This is why I married him.
The second time I made it was a few weeks ago for a football game. During halftime, all of the women lined the food up buffet style and the men went through the line pretty modestly – just a few wings, a little bit of this, little bit of that. Well, the men came back in and cleaned out the Spicy Ranch Chicken Dip before some of the women even had a chance to go through the line!
I’m not a big fan of the dips that call for the chicken in the can. I just can’t make myself eat that stuff. This dip has the extra step of cooking your own chicken but my goodness, it is good. It takes a little extra time but I think fresh is definitely best.
You’ll use a packet of Spicy Hidden Valley Ranch dry seasoning mix for this dip. I’ve had some trouble finding this in grocery stores but I have always been able to find it at Wal-Mart. Once you do find it, I suggest stocking up – you’ll make this dip more this once.
You can assemble this dip and then stick it in your fridge until you are ready to cook and serve it. So easy for parties and football games!
Hope you enjoy!
