We are into the heart of fall here in South Carolina, finally! As someone born and raised in St. Louis, the weather here has been more mild than what I expect from October and November. It is cool (ish) most days, the leaves have changed and are falling, and the holidays are approaching quickly.
I’ve found a puppy chow recipe that fits this season of the year - Pumpkin Spice Puppy Chow! Although truthfully, after many positive reviews from friends and family, this might be my all-star puppy chow recipe for anytime of the year. This dessert snack is packed with cinnamon and white chocolate.
A bonus about puppy chow is that it travels well. I packed a portion of the full recipe into an old plastic container and sent it off to my deployed husband. After two weeks through the mail system, he was still raving about it! The container I used, an old, washed and dried, lunch meat container, was packed to the brim so that when shaken up, not one of the little chex moved around. It did not arrive in crumbs and was not stale, so that’s a win!
Notes: I tried to add peanuts, and it didn’t go as well as I had hoped. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or mail to a friend!
