1 lb. ground beef, venison or turkey
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1(14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 lb. pkg. of whole wheat pasta
2 cups shredded cheese
Brown the meat with your favorite seasoning. I like Cavender’s, Basil, Oregano, or Cilantro (use whatever your family likes). Drain meat and stir in soups and canned tomatoes. Heat through for about 5 minutes then add cooked pasta. Stir and let simmer about 15-20 minutes to let the flavors blend. Then top mixture with shredded cheese, heat until melted and serve! I love this recipe because you can control the salt and calories in the dish by using spices for seasoning and low fat soups and cheese.
Oh, and here’s my verse for today… “From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows, and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” (Eph.4:16)
Kind of like this casserole, we all work together. No one’s gifts or efforts are more important than another’s. By “mixing together” we can come up with a great “recipe” to serve the Lord. Sometimes we forget to simmer our abilities together; we get caught up or only interested in our own ingredient.
Now, enough with the kitchen symbolism!! Work together as one body in Christ showing our love and unity for each other as we faithfully serve Him. (Now I’d better check with my Parking Space Faith BFF’s to see if this is OK, I’m working on unity too!!)
