![]() Easter is here. Jesus is alive! This is one of the basic cornerstones of our faith. We as Christians believe in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus. We should be reminded of this daily through our scripture reading, devotions, Bible studies, etc. We should be giving thanks and praising the Lord everyday for our new life in Him. Here’s an idea to try during this Easter season. Make a centerpiece for your kitchen table and add Easter eggs filled with objects from the Resurrection Story. Then each time you give thanks for your food, let a family member open up an egg and share its contents and its context in the Easter story. Keep a Bible nearby for accuracy. The sharing of Jesus’ death and resurrection doesn’t have to be just for story time anymore. You can easily adjust the amount of details you share according to the ages of your children. Also you could number the eggs to tell the chronological order of the story or retell the story in the right order. Here are some ideas for objects for your eggs…nail, silver coins, hair from donkey’s tail (I used my daughter’s and tied with a ribbon…she has brown hair…no other reason), leather strip, thorn, white cloth, cross, broken rock, empty egg or a red heart for love. I gathered up my own stuff; but you can purchase the story and eggs already filled (Google Benjamin’s Box or Resurrection Eggs to download the story and DIY eggs). This is just a fun and visual way to share Jesus with your family and friends. “The angel said to the women,”Do not be afraid, for I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified, He is not here; He has risen just as He said.” Matthew 28:5&6 Blessings, Lisa
