I really love French Toast!
In fact, French Toast was my first post-wedding meal. Drew and I stayed in Charleston for our honeymoon and I ordered it for breakfast at our hotel. The funny thing about a wedding reception is that you pick out all of your favorite foods to serve but you’re so busy talking to people and taking pictures that you don’t have time to eat any of it! When Drew and I woke up the next morning we were starving.
That breakfast hit the spot and tasted even better knowing I was sharing it with my new husband!
Every now and then I’ll get a craving for it and I’ll make it for supper along with sausage or bacon. The secret to this yummy French Toast is the combination of the vanilla extract and the flour. The addition of vanilla will make your whole house smell like a Yankee Candle and the flour helps to coat the bread instead of just making it soggy.

*To make this Pumpkin French Toast, add a 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger and replace granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of packed brown sugar.
Hope you enjoy!
