One of my favorite desserts - simple and easy!
“Could I ask a favor of you?”
This was the text that I received from Mrs. Louise, my mother-in-law, last week.
My brother-in-law's birthday was coming up and she asked if I could make him a special dessert for our lunch with him. A task that Mrs. Louise thought was just a favor, I considered to be the sweetest blessing.
You see, for 22 years of my life, I was an only child. While I was so happy with my little family of three, I longed for siblings. I asked my mom countless times for a brother or a sister. I just didn’t understand why everyone else had them except for me.
When Drew and I started dating, I loved going to his house! It was loud, crazy and there was always someone getting into trouble. It's kind of still like that, actually. On the other hand, Drew loved coming to my house because it was quiet. We were a great match!
Once I married Drew, I gained not only a sister but three brothers and they accepted me as their own. The once empty sibling-shaped hole I had in my heart was now overflowing with God’s blessings. What love He has lavished upon me!
Just like in every other aspect of my life, God’s plan was so much bigger and greater than my own. He knew the desires of my heart and planned to fulfill them in His sovereign timing.
With that being said, it was such a joy to bake this cheesecake for Tony. I'm so thankful for fulfilled desires!
