It's the most wonderful time of the year - right!? Or, are you stressed out about the meal that you have to cook next week for the group of people that you are trying to impress?
Our Monday night bible study is wrapping up 1 Peter by Jen Wilkin next week at our annual Friendsgiving Feast. Last week, Jen taught 1 Peter Chapter 4 to us and her words could not have come at a more appropriate time.

All the yummy flavors of chicken enchiladas in one easy dip!
Remember the good ol' days when the only trash talkin' on your Facebook page was between a Carolina and a Clemson fan?
Can we get back to that?
This election has been so divisive and I've heard scathing comments and words from both sides. Over the past few days I've thought about my friend, Paul, and his letter to the church at Ephesus.
These taco cups will be a hit at your next tailgate!
Bring these Taco Cups to your next tailgate and I promise they will be a hit!
Everyone loves a good dip at a party (especially this Spicy Ranch Chicken Dip) but sometimes I like to change it up a little! These little Taco Cups taste like you're eating a full taco! There's lots of great stuff in every bite - you get a lot of meat, a little cheese, and a little creaminess from the black beans. I like to top mine with sour cream and some salsa - delicious!
Since there's so much meat in the recipe, it's also a hit with the men!
A fun and tasty way to celebrate your favorite team!
Football season is finally here and I am over the moon! Last season, I wrote about what's it's really like to be the wife of a football coach. This season, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite things about this time of year:
1. Back on schedule: I know where I am going to be on Friday nights at 7:30...at least for the next few months! During the summer, we have a hectic schedule. Beach for this week, morning work-outs, scrimmages, etc. During the season, it's all very scheduled and that just makes my heart happy.
2. The remote is where it belongs: In my hands! Drew, I love you but if I have to watch that National Championship game one more time - I may scream. I have 43 episodes of The Pioneer Woman saved on our DVR and they have my name written all over them.
3. My cute cowbell comes out of storage: Oh, what joy! I hope the people that sit around me are just as excited about this...
4. Friday nights with your people: Without getting all Remember the Titans on you, football unites our town. It's fun to sit in the stands with people all cheering for the same cause.
5. Snacks that celebrate your team: There's just something about eating a snack that has your team's colors. It tastes better, right?
A pumpkin twist on a favorite cookie!
Only 51 more days until October 1st! To me, the beginning of October is the best day of the whole year. The leaves finally start to change, it's usually a little bit cooler, and it's socially acceptable to decorate your house with all of your Fall decorations.
Unfortunately, I'm anything but socially acceptable because I decorate my house way before October 1st.
This year, I've given myself until September 15th - no decorations before that date. Until then, I will embrace the pre-Fall holiday with scented candles, lots of college football and last, but not least, Fall food!
It may be 75 degrees outside but it is November which means it is time for soup! I fixed this Chicken Enchilada Soup a few weeks ago while wearing shorts and a t-shirt but my goodness I have waited long enough.
We are into the heart of fall here in South Carolina, finally! As someone born and raised in St. Louis, the weather here has been more mild than what I expect from October and November. It is cool (ish) most days, the leaves have changed and are falling, and the holidays are approaching quickly.
I’ve found a puppy chow recipe that fits this season of the year - Pumpkin Spice Puppy Chow! Although truthfully, after many positive reviews from friends and family, this might be my all-star puppy chow recipe for anytime of the year. This dessert snack is packed with cinnamon and white chocolate.
I can't believe October has already come and gone. I feel like it just got here!
One perk about October ending is Halloween! It's not the actual holiday that I like so much it's the traditions that come along with it.
When I lived at home, my mom and dad would make chili and invite the neighbors to come over. Soon, the word spread and we had a lot more than just neighbors asking for chili! Now, I make a pot of soup and bring it over to serve as well.
I love everything about Fall! Mums, chilly air, changing leaves, scarves and boots, hayrides, football (Go Gamecocks!), the fair, fall candles-and my favorite, PUMPKINS! I love pumpkins so much that I decided to grow pumpkins in my garden this year! I was already thinking about pumpkins in July, when I had to plant them, and my house was already decorated for the fall on Labor Day. Fall is just my favorite time of the year so I want to enjoy it for as long as I can! My favorites list goes a little like this:
4. Our dog, Miller
My friend Sarah Kathryn is Anti-Pumpkin, but I still love her and her tiny flaw. So naturally she turned to me, her pumpkin obsessed friend, for a pumpkin recipe! So if you like (love) pumpkin like I do, then this recipe is for you!
I hate to use the phrase ‘life changing’ but I’m not sure how else to describe this dip.
Seriously, it really is that good. The first time I made it I ended up eating it for supper. Drew came through the door from football and saw me hovering over the pie dish with a tortilla chip. He passed no judgement and pulled up a chair. I handed him a chip and we both ate in silence.
This is why I married him.
