This dip is perfect for this unusual Fall heat!
Let me say, I love this dip but I do not love this weather! I have worn my summer clothes out and I'm ready for the transition to cool Fall weather.
This dip is super easy and doesn't require you to use a hot oven! It's just layers of refried beans, sour cream, lettuce, cheese and taco sauce. Told ya it was easy! Serve with tortilla chips and you're set.
Speaking of Fall, we have started our new Fall study! We are doing 1 Peter by Jen Wilkin and we are absolutely loving it. Jen's teaching style is new to all of us but it is stretching us and we are learning a ton with her.
All the yummy flavors of chicken enchiladas in one easy dip!
Remember the good ol' days when the only trash talkin' on your Facebook page was between a Carolina and a Clemson fan?
Can we get back to that?
This election has been so divisive and I've heard scathing comments and words from both sides. Over the past few days I've thought about my friend, Paul, and his letter to the church at Ephesus.
We start a new bible study this Monday and I am SO EXCITED! It kind of feels like the first day of school. Yep – I was the girl that really loved the first day.
I’ve got my new book (Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer), new pens and a new pink binder. All of these things are great but the thing I love most about a new bible study is the fact that we usually have a few new girls join. I really love getting to know them and spending time with them. There’s nothing sweeter than a friendship built on the Rock.
You'll never use store bought ranch again!
Why do salads always taste better in restaurants?
It's the RANCH!
The store bought ranch dressings have preservatives and chemicals in them that give them a slight aftertaste whereas most restaurants make their own. Hence, their salads always taste so much better!
I love everything about Fall! Mums, chilly air, changing leaves, scarves and boots, hayrides, football (Go Gamecocks!), the fair, fall candles-and my favorite, PUMPKINS! I love pumpkins so much that I decided to grow pumpkins in my garden this year! I was already thinking about pumpkins in July, when I had to plant them, and my house was already decorated for the fall on Labor Day. Fall is just my favorite time of the year so I want to enjoy it for as long as I can! My favorites list goes a little like this:
4. Our dog, Miller
My friend Sarah Kathryn is Anti-Pumpkin, but I still love her and her tiny flaw. So naturally she turned to me, her pumpkin obsessed friend, for a pumpkin recipe! So if you like (love) pumpkin like I do, then this recipe is for you!
I hate to use the phrase ‘life changing’ but I’m not sure how else to describe this dip.
Seriously, it really is that good. The first time I made it I ended up eating it for supper. Drew came through the door from football and saw me hovering over the pie dish with a tortilla chip. He passed no judgement and pulled up a chair. I handed him a chip and we both ate in silence.
This is why I married him.
Since this dip has light mayonnaise and an onion (a vegetable) in it, it is totally diet friendly and will make you skinny just by eating it!
Right? Isn’t that how it works? The light mayo cancels out the two blocks of cheese – just like a healthy grilled chicken salad for supper (with lots of ranch) will cancel out a chocolate milkshake for dessert.
Ok, maybe that’s why last year’s jeans don’t quite fit me. I may have a small flaw in my diet logic.
With just a few ingredients and an assembly time of one minute this Crock Pot Pizza Dip can’t be beat!
Pizza lovers unite! Seriously though, if I could pick one food to eat for the rest of my life it would be pizza. I love pizza in all forms – regular pizza, pizza on thin crust, deep dish pizza, pizza dip, pizza swirls – you name it, I love it. In fact, Pizza Night in our house is a special treat and is sometimes referred to as date night.
I came across this recipe a few weeks ago and I’ve made it four times since then. I usually have all of the ingredients on hand so it’s convenient to make. I made it for my Life Group this past Monday and I think they all enjoyed it!
Y'all - this dip is so good and so addicting.
I was trying to convince my friend that this was a 'healthy' dip because it involved fruit.
Ok, that's not exactly true but it's still really good!
Hope you enjoy!
Notes: I like to use Butterfinger but Heath is also poplar to use in this dip.
2-8oz pkgs of cream cheese, softened 2 Tablespoons minced onion
1/2 tablespoon minced green bell pepper 1-8oz can crushed pineapple well drained
1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder 1 cup chopped pecans
Mix all ingredients other than the pecans together. With damp hands roll the mixture into a ball and then roll in chopped pecans. Wrap it in wax paper and put it in the fridge to firm up. Serve with crackers.
pretzel sticks, whopper candy, beef jerkey stick, candy eyes, candy corn, fruit roll up,
chocolate icing or melted chocolate
To make the turkey feathers, stick your pretzel sticks into the back 1/2 of the cheese ball. To create his head, take a stick of beef jerkey and "glue" a whopper candy on top with icing. Then attach the nose and eyes also with icing. We made the gobbler by cutting a little strip of fruit roll up and then laying it over the candy corn. Be creative with whatever supplies you have in your pantry.
This November appetizer is delicious and fun to serve!
