Hey guys, no recipe this time, just an idea for a tailgate party. I found this “Party Bucket” at TJ Maxx. It’s a great size and it comes with a bottle opener right on the bucket. Decorate with your favorite school colors (My fellow PSF friends are not happy with my colors…but, friends love at all times, even during football season!) and fill it with these nostalgic and cute little Cokes. Boom, functional and practical tailgate decoration! Now, I will say you might have to introduce the bottle opener to this younger generation. My husband and I were recently at a wedding reception that had buckets of these iced down Cokes, and he and some of his more “mature” friends had to man the tables and open Cokes for everyone! It was quite amusing and a little sad. So, if you use this idea take the time to share some “remember when” stories with your family and friends. It is always good for the older and most definitely wiser generation to impart our vast knowledge to those younger than us who are eagerly awaiting our next words of wisdom. Well, probably not, but you can enjoy a delicious glass-bottled Coke together and reminisce silently. This also makes a great gift, use the recipient’s favorite school colors and use packing noodles instead of ice. (Just saying…you know for the younger generation!)
Psalm 71 is about God’s constant help from youth to old age. Our life, in Him, is our story to share with others, even at a football game. “Even when I am old and gray, Oh God, do not forsake me, till I declare your power to the next generation…” (Psalm 71:18)
