Warm weather is here!! With the arrival of spring and summer, outdoor parties are a must. It’s the time to enjoy birthdays, graduations, weddings, engagements, cook for your wife day; I’m sure that is on the calendar somewhere. Anyway, it is definitely time to celebrate! Here is a fun way to add a pop of color to all of your warm weather activities. Fill your ice cube trays with different colors of Kool Aid, then add to your clear drinks - sparkling water, Sprite, Sierra Mist, 7-Up. They will look so refreshing and the taste changes as your ice melts. These will be a must at your next pool or beach party, enjoy!!
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory.” Revelation 19: 7
If you remember, I love to eat but don’t like spending lots of time in the kitchen. I also absolutely love chocolate chip cookies. So if you go to the store and they are out of slice and bake cookie dough, here are the “Easiest Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies”
½ cup butter softened
1 2/3 cups light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1tsp vanilla extract
2 cups self-rising flour
12-oz package semisweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350. Beat butter with electric mixer until creamy, gradually adding sugar, eggs, vanilla, and flour; beat at low speed until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
2. Drop a tablespoonful of cookie dough about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.(Don’t use all of the dough here, some needs to be tasted by the baker…you!)
3. Bake at 350 for about 11 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown. Let cool then eat! Best served warm with a cold glass of milk.
*Makes 3 - 4 dozen.
Before you eat, “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” (Psalm 136:1) You don’t have to give thanks just for meals. I’m positive snacks are included!
