Every Christmas I get the urge to make sugar cookies. But then I remember – I don’t have an artistic bone in my body. We’ve all seen the detailed cookies on Pinterest – aren’t they cute?
Cute? Yes. Realistic? Oh no.
I’ll open the link on Pinterest and see that there are ingredients for the cookie that I have to buy on Amazon. Nope. I’ll scroll a little further and see that instructions for the icing have 27 steps. Nope. Then, I’ll look a little closer at the cookie and see the intricate design that would actually require me to have a steady hand and a 4-year Art degree. Nope, nope and nope.
But – I still have the urge to make them!
I was flipping through the Southern Living Christmas magazine when I came across their 5 Ingredient Sugar Cookie recipe. I had all of the ingredients in my kitchen and the icing was only one step.
I dug through my cabinets and found my cute Christmas cookie cutters. You literally just make the dough, roll it out, use your cutters and bake them. Simple and easy!
While they are nowhere near the Pinterest version of Sugar cookies, they are simple and very yummy.
*I highly recommend using Parchment Paper for these cookies...and really all cookies in general. It's all I use!
Hope you enjoy!
