If you are looking for an old familiar friend in a new and exciting way, look no further! 3:16 is the book for you. Max Lucado has once again brought fresh insight into a verse (John 3:16) that all Christians can recite on demand. We’ve heard it since childhood and many of us proudly received our “gold star” as our memory verse badge of honor. Yet this is a verse we do actually remember, and recite over and over again. This is our old standby, the foundation of churches and Christians; we understand it, agree on it, proclaim it, we get it … or do we?
All right ladies, time for another book review! If you and your group of friends, large or small, are looking for a new and exciting Bible study to do together, look no further. Malachi: A Love That Never Lets Go, by Lisa Harper is awesome. Lisa is a theological scholar who, among many things, has been a past director of women’s ministry for Focus on the Family. She is currently an author, on tour with Women of Faith and a sought after speaker for women’s groups all over the country. Her ability to share her faith and knowledge of scripture in her humorous and down to earth way will keep you engaged and laughing through the whole study.

Hey ya’ll, welcome to our 1st ever book review. We love to read and thought it would be fun to share some of our favorites with you. We might tell you about a great book or an interesting Bible Study and please feel free to pass along any suggestions of a book or study that you have enjoyed. I pray this will be a fun and encouraging new venture for PSF.
The Girl’s Still Got It is an engaging retelling of the love story between Ruth, Boaz, Naomi and God. While reading this book, I couldn’t put it down; I was instantly lost in its captivating pages. Liz Curtis Higgs brings the story of Ruth to life with her witty and unconventional story telling ability. Her deep knowledge of scripture makes the characters and settings jump off of the page.
I know you will enjoy traveling back in time with Ruth on the dusty road from Moab to Bethlehem. Liz had me laughing and crying throughout every scene. She breaks down the book of Ruth verse by verse in such a way that makes you feel like you are now a character in their very familiar story. At the back of the book there are discussion questions and a study guide if you choose to use it for a book club or Bible study. I would also encourage you to check out the video to watch Liz at her “story-telling” best. You will LOVE The Girl’s Still Got It and its author!
